筑波大学大学院修士課程修了（地域研究）。2001年から共同通信社で取材活動を開始、特に気候変動と生物多様性に興味を抱く。COP21でのパリ協定採択に至る国際交渉を取材し多くの記事を執筆。同社での20年以上のキャリアを経て2022年からフリーランスのライター。

Atsuko Kawaguchi

Atsuko started in journalism as a staff writer for Kyodo News in 2001, with a special interest in climate change and biodiversity. Among her many articles, she covered international negotiations leading to the adoption of Paris Agreement at COP21 in 2015. After two decades with Kyodo, she started a new phase as freelance writer in 2022. She holds a master’s degree in area studies from the University of Tsukuba.
